Renewal of Vows

There are various reasons why a couple might want to renew their wedding vows but the common theme is that they want to re-affirm their love for and commitment to each other.

You might like to re-create the joy of your wedding day, or perhaps there has been an event later in life that makes both partners re-assess their devotion to the other.

There are no legal rules or regulations around a ceremony to renew vows, so it can be whenever and wherever you decide. It may be after the birth of your first child, or on your fifth wedding anniversary. It could be when your first-born reaches 18, or on your 25th
anniversary or when one of you survives a major life crisis – it is entirely up to you.

You may want to go back to your original wedding venue and have a replay, or you might decide to do something very different. Most couples find that things are much more relaxed this time round – no pressure about who to invite, no family squabbles, no last-minute nerves

. . . this time, it is pure pleasure and happiness, and sharing that with people you really want to be there with you.

I can help you to build a unique ceremony that has, at its core, each of you renewing your original wedding vows to the other – but which could also include, for instance, a re- dedication of the wedding rings, or dedicating new rings.

While the focus will, of course, be on the couple, there may well be more involvement from close family and friends. Stories rather than speeches; a video show of life since the wedding; music that brings back memories of key events; children playing their part – I can work with you to create a totally personalized, meaningful ceremony that can be great fun without losing the essence of a renewal of vows.

A ceremony of renewal of vows can be held anywhere, from the church in which you originally got married to a local hotel or wedding barn, and the costs will vary accordingly.

Or it could be held in a garden, on a chartered boat or at your favourite holiday resort: the choice is yours.

RENEWAL OF VOWS ENQUIRIES

Please contact me by email or by phone.

The date should already have been confirmed with the venue if need be.
I will check my availability, and we will arrange a meeting at your home or at the venue: a meeting by Zoom or Teams is also possible.

I shall send you some basic information ahead of our meeting.

When we meet, I shall ask you for a lot of information about both of you, and what has
happened since your wedding day – the ups and the downs. Working together I can then formulate a draft service to incorporate all of the relevant elements.

I shall be in contact with the venue (if relevant) throughout so that things go smoothly on the day.
